A full day of celebration of the many cultures present in Fairfield and Southeast Iowa. This family friendly event boasts a walking parade, free international music performances, colorful country exhibits and demonstrations, a kiddie train, games, and a variety of international food choices, including an international baking contest. All are welcome to enjoy a full day and evening of fun.

World Fair Field Festival Features a Walking Parade and an International Baking Contest
On Saturday, September 14th on the Fairfield downtown Central Park Square the World Fair Field International Festival will again present free music and fun all day, from noon to 10:30 pm.
The first event of the day will the Parade of Colors sidewalk parade from Howard Park at the Farmers Market down Main St. to Central Park.
Anyone with an affiliation or affection for a particular country or culture, is welcome to join the walk in costume and/or with flags. Children are especially welcome. Come join the fun! Gather at Howard Park at 11:30 am. (Email questions to firstname.lastname@example.org)
The Baking Contest… At 11 am that Saturday morning, local bakers will once again be invited to bring out baking creations made from their favorite recipes to compete for prizes.
All manner of home-baked goods made from recipes of international origin will be accepted to be judged by local baking celebrities: Curtis Goudy, head baker at HyVee, Stephen Boss, local foodie and producer of the Great Taste radio/television show, and Eric Rusch, of Breadtopia, local bread baking enthusiast.
Three Prizes in each of 2 categories (Pastry/Dessert and Bread) will be awarded in a blind taste-test judging. The judges will be looking for superior quality in appearance, flavor, and texture.
This is also an opportunity to donate baked goods even if the baker does not want to take part in the contest. All baked goods involved, whether being judged or not, will be accepted as donations to help support the Festival, and will be given out for monetary donations to the cause.

The World Fair Field International Festival is brought about from support from the Fairfield Cultural Alliance, the Fairfield Convention and Visitors Bureau, Cambridge Foundation, Fairfield First!, Community First Credit Union, Everybody’s Whole Foods, Midwest One Bank, Libertyville Savings Bank, and Miller Realty.
In case of rain, the event will be held at the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center, North Hall.
