Calling all businesses, groups, non-profits, and individuals to build teams for “Trivia Night,” Friday, March 20 at the Fairfield Arts and Convention Center.
The event is a special invitation to business and community groups as well as individuals to form teams of eight participants to compete for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place team prizes.
Social time with a cash bar and light snacks begin at 5 p.m., appetizers are included with admission from 6:00 to 6:30 p.m.; game time begins at 6:30 p.m. with snacks available for sale throughout the evening.
A 50/50 game raffle, prizes for first, second and third-place winning teams, and silent auction of donated gifts and prizes round out the evening’s winning possibilities.
The Trivia Night fundraiser is a special project of the Center’s board of directors, according to Board President Robert Wiegert.
“We love what we are able to do for the community here at the Center,” Wiegert said. “And we are grateful that we can serve the many businesses, groups, non-profits and thousands of individuals who pass through the doors for our Artist Series, and the many, many other events, community causes and fundraising gatherings we host here. Together we have made the Center an important asset to the community.”
As a non-profit entity, the Fairfield Arts and Convention Center is funded by private donations, user fees, and fundraising activities to finance its extensive programming and event center schedules.
“We’re open nearly every day,” said Executive Director Rustin Lippincott. “We are always in fundraising mode to keep the entire facility in tip-top shape for the best experience for our patrons.”
Businesses, other non-profits, and community groups can purchase Trivia Night tables for eight players for $240 and receive a special placard that identifies the name of the table sponsor.
Individual player tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. No time to organize a team, no worries, FA&CC Development Director, Mendy McAdams will assign seating to any individual players that night.
Trivia Night emcee Ken Malloy said game categories will span the gamut of subject matter, and competition between tables will be encouraged. Malloy is keeping the specifics of the categories under wraps.
“We’re definitely looking to spark a little friendly competition among teams,” he teased. “We don’t want anyone to be able to study up on the exact categories.
