Saturday, April 20 • Second Annual Earth Day Celebration at the Ecobarn. 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Plant sale, tours, workshops, kids’ activities. SEED Barn, 2143 185th St., Fairfield.

Celebrate Earth Day Saturday with the Sierra Club and the Sustainable Living Coalition.

The celebration runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Eco-Barn in Fairfield and features live spring plant sales, workshops on gardening and singing, talks on insects and sustainable farming, tours of Eco-Village and the perennial gardens, music and food.

Here’s the line-up of the day’s activities. Everyone is invited to this family friendly, fun and educational event.

11:30 and 1:30 – Tour of the Eco Village
12 noon – Faith Reeves (Sky Factory Farm Manager) – Backyard Soil Science – Gardening Workshop
12 noon Ray Meylor (Director of Cherry Glen Learning Farm) talk for children
1 PM – Ray Meylor (Director of Cherry Glen Learning Farm) talk for adults
1 PM – Moni Hayne – Bug talk for kids “What’s that bug?
Creepy, Crawly Things are Cool!”
2 PM – Tiffany Raines – Herb and Perennial Garden Tour
2 PM Sacred Harp Singing Demonstration and Workshop with Jo Lynn Gates (an a capella singing style dating from the colonial times)
