Remembering Red – A Tribute to Red Skelton is a nostalgic trip down memory lane as Brian Hoffman brings the uncanny antics, laughs and lovable spirit of America’s favorite clown to the Sondheim Center.
Remember Red is a light hearted trip down memory lane. This expert portrayal of Red Skelton will have you in stitches with some of Red’s most well-known characters. Laugh with Clem Kadiddlehopper, giggle with Gertrude and Heathcliffe, and feel the love of Freddy the Freeloader. Add a little “Guzzlers Gin” and some pantomimes and you’ll be remembering Red Skelton.
Born in Vincennes, Indiana in 1913, Skelton was the son of a circus clown, and later became a popular American comedian best known as a radio and television star from 1937-1971. Skelton’s show business career began as a teenager while he followed in his father’s oversized shoes and performed as a circus clown. His career spans screen to stage to airwaves, with performances in vaudeville, Broadway, films, radio, TV, night clubs and casinos.
Hoffman’s expert portrayal of Skelton will have you reminiscing as he performs the hilarious routines that were extremely popular during the “Golden Age of Television.”
