Theme: Gabriele Munter
Bill Teeple is offering two “Party and Paint” nights Friday, November 22nd and Saturday, November 23rd, 7:30 – 9:30. The idea of these evenings is to give people who would never dream of taking an art course a chance to have the fun of making a work of art. The teacher takes the group step by step through the creation of a simple painting. Everyone has a great time. It’s a social event and a painless introduction to painting all at once.
Bill Teeple brings a new twist to his painting parties. He combines his introduction to painting with art history. A simple painting or detail of a famous painting is copied. Bill traces the basic composition out for the participants making the process easy. We will be copying a painting by the famous early modern artist Gabriele Munter. Munter was a German expressionist painter who was at the forefront of the Munich avant-garde in the early 20th century. Wassily Kandinsky, Franz Marc, and Munter were the founders of the Blue Rider School. She and Kandinsky were in a 12-year relationship between 1902 and 1914.
Experienced artists are invited to join in, doing their own variations on the night’s theme. Along with the image selected for beginners to copy, Bill will provide ten Gabriele Munter images for the more advanced artists to work from.
The fee for Party & Paint is $25 per night, which includes all art supplies including a canvas, plus beverages and refreshments. Please sign up in advance. For more info or to sign up: firstname.lastname@example.org, 641- 919 – 6252.
