Fairfield First Fridays Celebrates Summer!

Join Fairfield First Fridays on Friday, July 5th for a summer celebration in Central Park.  Fairfield First Fridays will have Purple Star Entertainment, DJ Rustin Lippincott, playing music from the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and 2000’s to celebrate the decades of summer. Stop by the Fairfield First Friday’s tent to dedicate a song to someone special for a donation, there will be a limited number of songs per hour that can be dedicated! The event starts at 6 p.m. and goes until 10 p.m.

The Trails Council will be announcing the winner of The Scavenger Hunt, the lawn games will be set up for a little friendly competition, there will also be vendors and artists. At the Fairfield First Friday’s tent, there will be a game set up for the kids to win beach balls and pinwheels.

Fairfield First Fridays will have a new attraction for this event, weather permitting, there will be a new photo booth set up with props and backdrops. The theme for this month’s photo booth is summer related.  Come try it out!

Many stores, galleries and restaurants will be open for the evening, with activities, and events as well.   A few are listed below:

Americus Gallery100 W. Burlington Ave.  Americus Gallery featuring Christopher Kufner’s new show called “The Muse” consisting of 18 paintings from his private collection. Several of these paintings are new and have not been displayed outside of the artists private residence. Also, a new show of recent paintings by artist, Jim Weidle. Weidle says; “They are worth a good long stare; though you may want to leave some for the next guy.” Gallery Hours: Tuesday – Thursday 10 – 6, Friday 10 – 8, Saturday 10 – 5

Art FiftyTwo- 52 E. Briggs Ave Open 6:30- 9:30ICON Gallery and Art 52 are combining forces to show the delightful art work of Geoffrey Baker. The unique two gallery exhibition opens on First Friday, June 7th, 6:00 to 9:30. Beloved to all who knew him, Geoffrey Baker was Professor of Art at Maharishi University of Management from 1979 until he passed away in 2011. His spirit, humor, wit, creativity, sweetness, and appreciation for beauty touched hundreds and hundreds of lives. ICON Director Bill Teeple describes Geoffrey’s paintings as “impressionistic dream art.” The paintings celebrate memories of his childhood and stir childlike visions inside the viewer.”

Henderson’s/Cindy’s Art Beat-53 W. Broadway Ave Henderson’s Gallery will open a new exhibit for Friday, July 5 “The Watercolor Show.” A group of 7 area artists will be showing a variety of watercolor paintings from July 5 through September. Cindy’s Art Supply store and Square One Arts gift shop will be open Friday, July 5 from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m.

Stuff a Bear and More – 53 N. Court St.- As a special fun event during July 5th Art Walk, Stuff a Bear and More and Health & Wholeness will each have a carnival game for all ages. At each location, we will have a Corn Hole Game, where each person gets 3 chances to play. They will be able to get up to 3 tickets and will be entered into that nights drawing for a prize. Also, on display at Stuff a Bear and More will be Abstract Art by Dane Julian.  Stop in to show your support of this great addition to the shopping around the square.

Suite 4 Massage123 N. Main St. Suite 4- Continuing the tradition of offering great bodywork that was available at Joy Mellum’s Healthy Inspirations. Natalie Hansen, LMT (Nati’s Body Shop); John Worsfold, LMT (Muscle Works); and Renee Perry, LMT (Main Street Massage Therapy & Spa), three graduates of the Guiding Light School of Massage, acting as independent business owners, will continue to offer many types of bodywork at the 123 North Main Street, Suite 4 facility, renamed Suite 4 Massage. Open house between 5–9 p.m. July 5 and the public is invited to stop in for a visit and learn how massage can be beneficial to your wellbeing. Enjoying snacks, chair massages and samples of some of the treatments.
