Documentary Film Screening; Peace with Nature in Costa Rica

Stuart J. Tanner, documentary filmmaker and professor at Maharishi International University, and Oak Alley Productions, are presenting a new documentary about Costa Rica’s conservation success story. Director of Photography, Cody Olivas. Sound, Donald Revolinski.

About the film: In the 1980s Costa Rica was on the verge of losing its forests and biodiversity, and becoming just another country in a long list that has had its natural resources and wealth ripped out and sold off without seeing tangible benefits for the country itself. It is a familiar story. But this is not the story of Costa Rica. Over the last few decades Costa Rica saved restored its forests while providing employment and financial security for its people. It is a story that can inspire the world and show a path to both protecting the ecological wealth and diversity of a nation while providing much needed income and employment. The new documentary tells the story of how they did it.

“Costa Rica is an inspiration to us all. They are restoring their forests, protecting their biodiversity, and creating a sustainable future for their people. It’s an important story that everyone should see.”
– Jane Goodall.
