Fairfield First Fridays Celebrates 19 years with Blues and BBQ in Central Park
Join Fairfield First Fridays Art Walk on August 6th, from 6 to 10pm for Blues in Central Park!
Fairfield First Fridays Art Walk celebrates 19 years of events! In August of 2002 Stacey Hurlin, founder of the non-profit, Art Life Society, has the first Art Walk named “A Fun Fest Gallery Walk”. It was such a success Hurlin and the Fairfield Arts Community were inspired to make it a monthly event. With adding events like Movies in Central Park, The Holiday Trade Fair, and the regular monthly events, Fairfield First Fridays has hosted over two hundred events! This would not have been possible without the help from grants, donations, volunteers, sponsors and the community! To help us celebrate, please stop by the event tent and grab cookies!
Pierce Crask will be performing in the gazebo in Central Park from 6 to 10pm. Pierce is a Chicago based singer-songwriter accompanied by his guitar and harmonica and drawing influences from Townes Van Zandt, Steve Earle, John Prine, Bob Dylan and many others. Pierce has been entertaining audiences professionally since 1999.

Cheryl Michie Gallery- 108 W. Broadway Ave.#206 Stop in and check out this new gallery! Cheryl Michie is a Midwestern artist living in Fairfield, Iowa with her husband, Adam and son, Joshua. She is also a wife, friend, mother, grandmother and works at MIU in distance education. After a long stretch of no painting, she picked up her brush in March of 2020. People were staying home due to the pandemic and her kitchen and dining room also became the painting studio. This time was different, there was no agenda, or pressure, to create beautiful works of art, but, instead, to paint for the movement, the intentions, healing and inner questions. She found an online painting community that focused on medicine painting which has a more inner focus that she was interested to explore. A year later, Cheryl ran out of space in the kitchen/dining room/studio at home. While talking with a good friend, they decided to bring her art to Kaleidoscope Salon and create a co-existing art gallery and salon. Actually, the space used to be a gallery, so it made perfect sense! They hope you will stop by and enjoy Cheryl Michie’s first art exhibit at the Fairfield Art Walk,
