Pride in Fairfield

June is Pride Month, and Fairfield, Iowa is celebrating in style! The town comes alive this week with a number of events leading up to the big Pride Festival on Saturday. There's a block party, a parade, drag shows, and more. It's a great time to be out and proud in Fairfield!
This is a great time to come together and celebrate diversity. Whether you're looking to celebrate your own Pride or show your solidarity with the community, Fairfield's Pride festival is a great way to do it. There are many different events and activities planned to celebrate Pride Month locally. Here are just a few of them!
Friday, June 24th
Safe Space Crawl 5 p.m.
Start at the Noble House Kava at 115 N. Main St. Tour of locally owned businesses that are proudly committed to inclusivity and accessibility.
Saturday, June 25th
Howard Park festivities 3:00 PM
Join local artists and craftspeople for family games, music, and vendors.
Pride March 5:30 p.m.,
Fairfield’s first official Pride March will begin to gather at 5:30 PM with a 6:00 start time. The public is encouraged to join in.
Family Friendly Pride Show 6:30 p.m.,
A free family friendly Pride Show begins at the Fairfield Arts and Convention Center. That includes drag performance art, comedy sketches, singing, and dancing,
PrideFest Extravaganza 8:00 PM
The Extravaganza is intended for audiences ages 18 and is an edgy and political show, hosted by Burlesque performer Leo LaFlash of Des Moines. All performances will be professional, and many will feature beloved local drag characters. The show is immediately followed by an after party in the Arts and Convention Center. Tickets are $15 at the door.
Sunday June 26th
Pride Family Picnic 1:00 PM
Head over to Central Park for live music, including performances by Lore Oliver and Hannelore Burghart. Bring along some food or get lunch from local businesses on the square. And don’t forget a blanket or chair to sit on.
So come on out and celebrate Pride Month with your fellow Fairfielders! It'll be a blast!
