National Plan for Vacation Day
By Visit Fairfield | January 25, 2022
Listen up—it’s time to stop pretending working from home can replace vacation time. Schedule your time off and get AWAY—it’s National Plan For Vacation Day.
How many times over the last two years have you said, “I need a vacation?” Isn't it time to book one??
The National Plan for Vacation Day is here and Visit Fairfield invites you to join in the celebration by planning your next vacation.
National Plan for Vacation Day (NPVD), powered by U.S. Travel Association, encourages Americans to plan their vacation days for the entire year at the start of the year. After nearly two years of pandemic stress and fatigue, NPVD is an opportunity for Americans to look ahead to brighter days and make plans for getaways or vacations over the coming months.
You're not the only one who needs a break
Over half of all Americans are battling the burnout blues but now's the time to dream of—and plan for—brighter days. According to research from U.S. Travel Association, more than two-thirds (68%) of American workers feel at least moderately burned out and more than six in 10 (64%) feel they desperately need a vacation. Close to eight in 10 (79%) believe vacations are important to their overall health and well-being. And even if you're not comfortable traveling right now, you can still give yourself something to look forward to by planning a getaway.
Change of Scenery
Americans have a vacation deprivation issue and often leave paid vacation days on the table. Just one-quarter of Americans used ALL of their earned time off in 2021. Don’t let this year’s days go to waste. It’s your vacation time: make sure you use it. Even a day trip or a long weekend can leave you refreshed and renewed. Iowa offers so many locations that can help you feel like you've had a break from day-to-day life. Consider visiting the Bridges of Madison County, the Lost Island Theme Park in Waterloo, or the Field of Dreams in Dyersville. Locally, there are options to explore. Need some vacation inspiration?
