The Fairfield Christmas Light Showdown is back for 2025, and we are calling on every proud decorator, quiet competitor, and joyful overachiever to help the town glow brighter than ever. Whether your style is elegant, quirky, or gloriously extra, this is your chance to join Fairfield’s favorite holiday tradition.
Homeowners: It Is Your Time to Shine
Registration is open now through December 5 for any homeowner within Fairfield city limits. Entering gets your home listed on the official Showdown Map so the whole community can find your display on December 12 and 13.
Why enter? Here are a few good reasons:
• Bragging rights.
• You will surprise yourself with how much fun it is.
• You will give your neighbors, friends, and visiting families a memorable holiday moment.
• You could win cash prizes provided by Macks Automotive.
And no need to feel intimidated. New decorators get a special Newbie Spotlight Award worth 200 dollars, recognizing a first time home that brought holiday spirit in an impressive way.
The Competition: Friendly, Festive, and a Little Extra
On December 12 and 13 from 4 to 9 pm, Fairfield transforms into a driveable holiday wonderland. Residents and visitors will grab a ballot and a map, tour the town, and score each display for creativity, charm, and overall cheer.
While the public votes with their hearts, our secret judging panel will be scoring with trained twinkle loving eyes. The panel features past winners and true holiday light aficionados. They evaluate complexity, storytelling, craftsmanship, and clever use of lights and decor.
Their scores, combined with community votes, determine the top winners.

• Second place: $250
